Matt Spicer

Sports Massage & Physiotherapist

Hi, my name is Matt Spicer. I am a 1st Class Hons graduate in (BSc) ‘Sports Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage’ & ‘Physiotherapy’ from Cardiff Met & Uni of Gloucestershire, respectively.

Through various placements, I have experienced NHS and elite sport Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, as well as NHS Stroke and Brain Injury specialist centres.
As a former footballer with a history of recurring injuries, I have a keen interest to ensure that other athletes and members of the general public do not experience the same.
Over the last 7 years of clinical experience, I have been involved in high-level Athletics, Football, Cricket, and Rugby. Working with local teams and clubs such as Cardiff Met Athletics Sprint team and Pontypridd Town AFC, to IAAF Athletics Championships and the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, where I was involved in athletes’ recovery and rehabilitation pre and post-events.

I am looking to continue this work within the community, and local athletes, as well as continuing my experience with international athletes and professional clubs. During university I took an interest in Athletics and Football, becoming an intern for both Cardiff Met Athletics Sprint team, Pontypridd Town AFC, Newport Gwent Dragons, & Bristol Rovers FC where I helped to recover and rehabilitate amateur and professional athletes back to full fitness.
