Paediatric Physiotherapy
Paediatric Physiotherapy
At The Treatment Room, we provide expert paediatric physiotherapy services tailored to the needs of babies, children, and teenagers. Whether your child is recovering from an injury, experiencing a developmental delay, or facing physical challenges, our experienced team is here to help them move with confidence and reach their full potential.
What is Paediatric Physiotherapy?
Paediatric physiotherapy is a specialist area of physiotherapy that supports the physical development and rehabilitation of children from birth through to adolescence. Our goal is to help children improve their movement, strength, coordination, and posture — using evidence-based, child-friendly techniques designed to suit each stage of growth.
Conditions We Treat
Our paediatric physiotherapists in Wales are experienced in supporting children with a wide range of conditions, including:
- Developmental delays (e.g. late sitting, crawling, or walking)
- Torticollis and flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly)
- Cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions
- Sports injuries and growing pains (e.g. Sever’s disease, Osgood-Schlatter's)
- Hypermobility and joint instability
- Rehabilitation following surgery or fractures
- Postural concerns and muscle imbalances
- Coordination or balance difficulties
- Musculoskeletal pain and movement disorders
From Infants to Teens – We're With You Every Step
As your child grows, their needs evolve — and so does our approach. We offer age-appropriate physiotherapy support for early years through to teenage athletes, always focused on fun, function, and long-term improvement.
What to Expect at Your Child’s Appointment
Comprehensive Initial Assessment
We take the time to understand your child’s history, development, and current challenges. During the session, we assess their movement, posture, coordination, and play in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Bespoke Treatment Plans
Every child is unique. Based on the assessment, we develop a tailored therapy plan which may include:
- Play-based physiotherapy exercises
- Hands-on treatment and manual therapy
- Strengthening and balance work
- Postural correction and movement training
- Home exercises and guidance for parents
Family-Centred Approach
We actively involve parents and carers, providing clear instructions and support to ensure progress continues at home between sessions. Where helpful, we’re also happy to liaise with schools or other healthcare professionals.
If you’re concerned about your child’s movement, posture, or physical development, early intervention can make a huge difference. Let’s work together to help your child move well and grow strong.
